Illustrator tutorial

In class we will be making use of illustrator for our newsletter. Illustrator has amazing features that can help  me with my newsletter. For example you can import an illustration and resize it in illustrator without the image becoming blurry! no matter what size it originally was. You can create art and illustrations in illustrator as well of course. It also helps to know your intent for your art work so that key settings are in place. In illustrator you can choose your art work size and really customize your work. I also love how you can right the actual size you want it to be in inches and it would convert it points for you.To make it better you can choose the color setting! This will be very helpful for when i am completing the newsletter! :D

Brochure Peer Review

           In my visual deisgn class we had to create a brochure for a client using all the knowledge we have of photoshop and indesign. Many of which where well done altough having a few flaws here and there. I had to review to of my fellow peer's brochure. Both of them worked on a brochure for Friendly's as their choosen client. Brian Perez's Brochure for Friendly followed the format for a brochure and had the inside of the brochure contained the bulk of the information. However on the inside of the brochure it seems like the information should have been spread out more. All the information was put into one panel macking the panel packed. The font size was also made to small for someone to be able to read. I do love the pictures he used for his brochure as well as the font style. Overall his brochure was very well thought out and nice.
           My other peer who also worked on a brochure for Friendly's is Javon Mcdonald. Javon had very nice cutouts of photos and went along with the red color scheme like I noticed in Brians. However the alignment in this was off. I would also have suggested making the font size bigger for the company name, Friendly's, and the info below it smaller. The bulk of the information was placed in the inner panels as the format had requeted. I enjoyed viewing my fellow classmates brochures.

Indesign cs5 new features can be used by you for your web based brochure. It has new coolio interactive features such as animation, which allows you to add motion paths to your text and photos. As well as a timing feature that allows you to time when these motions will take place. Videos and slide shows can also be added to the interactive brochure.Another feature is Interactive for pdf workspace which allows you to include things lik hyperlinks and bookmarks for a pdf. The regular interactive is to be used for swf or flash. You can also preview the animations and interactive features by clicking preview on the right panel. You can also export your interactive brochure to flash and still maintain the treading betweent the text and selectable as normal. Now i can include awesome new animation features to my brochure for my client. I think my client would be greatly pleased by this because it gives their brochure something more special. :)

Reflection_Porfolio

1.)The purpose of my porfolio was to organize the past work I have done to be viewed and accessed by others. This porfolio can be used to show samples of my work and how i progressed overtime. Which can be useful when applying for colleges. It can also be used later on for when I am applying for a job to show to the employeer.
2.) I created my porfolio using Adobe Acrobat and photoshop. First I created a welcome page using photoshop. I kept the welcome page simple so it wouldnt be too overpowering. I had set up a folder structure following the format that was provided to me and my fellow classmates. After creating the welcome page and the folder setup, pdf copies of our work was put into the folder in which they belonged, along with a narratives of each. After we learned to create a header in which we put our contact information and a photo (optional)
3.) We streamlined the file size by changing it to a different format (pdf) to decrease the file sizes without weakening the quality of the image.
4.) The portfolio I have is not an accurate example of all my work so far because ther where many files missing from my porfolio.
